Leah, previously called Lenora, came to us from a shelter where she was not leading a very happy life. She is a beautiful cat and quite a diva. Unfortunately, she does not play well with others. She stays in the kennel during the day with Charlotte and Polly and spends the night in her "bedroom" which is actually exam room one. Leah recently was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which is a very common disease in older cats. If left untreated, the cat can go into heart failure. Leah was treated at Animal Specialty Hospital by Dr. Thomas Smith, a veterinary internist, with radioactive iodine. This is the cure for hyperthyroidism so Leah is now disease free.
